Holy smokes,people, 300 backers. We did it!

That means a box of 2026 Sketchbooks is heading to service members through our friends at Comics for Troops. YOU made that happen. Not us - YOU. Every single pledge pushed us closer, and now someone in uniform is getting some Steve Rude Art in their life.

But we're not done yet.

Achievement #2 is live: The Nexus 45th Sticker Drop

Get us to 400 backers and we're tucking an exclusive 45th anniversary sticker into every physical order. Softcover? Sticker. Hardcover? Sticker. Remarque? You better believe there's a sticker.

And we're SO close to our next community goal—just 5 more backers and we'll be sending a whole BOX of sketchbooks to ComicBooks for Troops. If you know anyone who'd love this book, now's the perfect time to share!

Meanwhile, the community leaderboard competition is getting spicy. Trevin Hickmon is holding the top spot at 1,895 points, with Ray Riethmeier and Brian T. Rivers battling for second. You all showed up and showed OUT. We're over here getting a little misty-eyed. This community never fails to blow us away.

This year marks 45 years of Nexus—a series that didn’t just survive decades, but earned them through ideas, discipline, and a standard of craft that never talked down to its audience.

As part of our community celebration, we’re gonna have a Nexus Trivia Extravaganza for the community.

This isn’t about gatekeeping or “gotcha” questions. It’s about shared history -and racking up some leaderboard points!

Over the coming days, we’ll be posting poll-based trivia questions covering:

  • Key moments in the story
  • Characters, themes, and turning points
  • The ideas that made Nexus different—and enduring

Each question will be multiple choice, one correct answer, and followed by a reveal with a little context for anyone who wants to go deeper.

Studio Family Update: We're Renaming the Compendium (Because Words Matter, Apparently)

INTRODUCING THE NEXUS ENCYCLOPEDIA

Quick update: We're changing the name from "Compendium" to "Encyclopedia" as a working title because people kept asking what a compendium was. Same massive project, clearer name.

We're at the home stretch. The Nexus Encyclopedia (working title - vote on the final name below!) is finally happening, and we need your help to finish it in 2026.

This reference book documents 45 years of Nexus history — decade-by-decade evolution, production notes, creative process. We've put together 200 pages over the past 10 years. Our designer has been at this for over a decade. 

Our editor has been working with us for 2+ years, but turns out editors also enjoy luxuries like rent and groceries — so if we want this done in 2026 instead of another decade from now, we need to make sure she can focus on Nexus instead of taking other projects to pay the bills.

The Nexus Family tier/add-on ($49) funds the actual work to finish this:

  • Behind-the-scenes updates as it comes together
  • Special Discord access
  • Your name in the book
  • Eligibility for Family-only hardcover (no extra cost)
